Charging at home while away

Hi all. Just a “best practice” question and I assume the answer is no! The question is: while away (say for a couple of weeks) is it ok to leave the car plugged into the E2 Plus on Solar Diversion (assuming the car needs charging)? I am assuming ‘no’ for safety reasons but thought it would be interesting to get some feedback from folk who know a lot more than me! Thanks team.

Hi Ross,

Thanks for getting in touch.

I would refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual or manufacturer’s recommendations.

I personally don’t leave my BEV (2018 Nissan Leaf) plugged in while on holiday, I would let it sit with the battery’s state of charge around 60-70% unplugged.

I would avoid leaving the vehicle stationary fully charged (100%) or below 20% for too many days/weeks.

Hope this helps. If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks Pedro - your advice is very much appreciated!
