E2 Plus Charger Firmware Release Notes

I noticed the firmware version on my charger has recently updated to v2.8.0
Not sure when it happened because it never informed me.

I can’t find any information on this community about what is included in new releases, new features, bug corrections etc.
Is there somewhere we can view the release notes?

I’ve just had an E2 Plus charger installed for my Polestar 4 here in Sydney. My first charge last night went smoothly with no issues.

However, I noticed the firmware version is 2.6.2, which seems quite a bit behind the latest version 2.8.0. which habash has. I was under the impression that the latest firmware would be downloaded during installation. Should I contact support to have this updated?

Also would like these release notes made public, mine has had 2 firmware updates in the last 4 months so curious to know the changes that were made

I agree, not all updates are for the better. They fix one issue but make another issue. At least if we are informed of an update, we can keep an eye on what’s going on. My car wouldn’t charge at all the other day then realized they made an update. I cut power to the unit then rebooted it and it started charging again.
Now we have another issue where it used to charge at 7.4kw before the update but now only charges at 6.6kw.

Mine has also been charging at a reduced rate in recent weeks. The app states the reduced rate is due to charger temperature. I had (and expected) this issue at the height of last summer, not at the low to mid 20° temps of the past few weeks. I think they’ve played with the threshold. Does this mean there is an issue with the hardware’s ability to supply the full advertised current?

No, it’s due to the firmware update. They are working on it and quote “they will be looking at a new firmware in the coming months to fix this”

That is good news. Hopefully they can sort it out soon.

Mine is also charging slower, support saying its because of temperature. E2 Datasheet says operating temperature -25c to 55c (Charging current may limit at higher temperatures). I wouldnt think my charger in the garage charging overnight in melbourne (so approx 15-20c ambient temp) would need to be slowing down. They need to get this sorted ASAP, once it actually gets hot here i fear the charger will be basically useless

Easier to blame it on temperature rather than admit something in the firmware slowed charge speed. Like when it wouldn’t charge over 3.4kw on solar, they blamed byd but then pushed through a firmware update and meraculously it charged at the full 7.4kw on solar. Amazing Hey.
