With a Qld install with the charger limited to 20A (4.6kw) is it possible to:
- Draw 4.6kw from the Grid
- Divert 2.4kw from Solar (if available)
For a total of 7kw for charging?
Thanks - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,
Thanks for getting in touch!
Currently, this is not possible; the max charging current is capped at 20A grid or solar.
We are currently in discussions with Energy QLD for this exact proposal; however, this is yet to be approved.
Kind regards,
Pedro
Thanks, good to know there’s something in progress.
Related - can the Energex remote cutoff (via ripple control I think?) be added after installation at a later date to allow 32A charging?
No worries Lindsay ![]()
Yes it can, we would then change the max charging current to 32A remotely once the change was confirmed by the electrician/property owner.
Once this happens, you can send the paperwork confirmation from Energex to support@evnex.com, and our support team can assist in making the changes.
Awesome, thanks - 4.6kw should be enough for me but good to know I have options if its not.
