With AC Coupled batteries can the E2 Plus detect when the solar is exporting and not being used by the AC Coupled battery?

Good question!

Yes, it can, the E2 Plus would detect that your solar inverter is exporting once your solar battery is fully charged, meaning while your solar battery is being charged, if all your solar generation is going into the solar battery the charger would be in stand by as it would not see any solar surplus export to the grid, until your system started exporting over the minimum amount to have the vehicle taking current.
