Best place for our install in Brisbane seems to be the front of the house - shaded and mostly sheltered from rain.
However in extreme rain events our gutters can overflow and we can get sheets of water down which may impact the charger - would that be an issue?
Hi Lindsay,
The chargers are IP rated and can be installed outside. The unit’s PCB/components is sealed from the elements inside the charger, the installer would also use silicone to block all cable entry points.
I would recommend adding a wall mount plug holder to your order (available from the online store), so you can add extra protection to the charging cable connectors (even though it has a rubber cap and it is also IP rated)
So the answer is yes, you can install the charger in the front of the house.
