X22 Solar diversion draining my home battery

Hi all,

I have an X22 Three phase charger which is great, however I’m running into issues where it will sometimes draw charge from my home battery in peak periods (usually late afternoon/early evening).

I had logged a support case and they finally came to the conclusion that this was happening as I have net metering and my inverter will sometimes export a large amount of power on one of the phases in order to offset/balance the other phases.

The suggested solution was to disable “Solar diversion” for those times when the sun will be down, however I already have a complex schedule defined in the Evnex App (three different tariffs over 5 different periods for each week day and a single tier for weekends) so doing this would further complicate my set up as well as still not prevent this from happening during those early and later daylight periods where I may still want to charge (depending on the time year).

Is there a way to set the app to trigger “Solar diversion” charging when the Net power is above the threshold I have defined in the app (i.e. “Start charging when export is more than (kW)”), instead of when any of the three phases individually exceed the setting?

btw. I do have a low export limit as well unfortunately. I’m on three phase, but with a total export limit of 4.5kW. (i.e. not 4.5 per phase)

Hey Mike,

Did you get any headway on this? Ive got the X22 and just had a solar/battery installed a week ago. How does the solar diversion work for you these days?

Hi Ryan,

No, I had absolutely no reply on this one. For now I’ve just set my solar diversion times to be where there is peak sunshine hours, however that doesn’t really fix the underlying problem.
