Navigation lag and Device Firmware Update

Hi Team

I recently installed the Evnex E2 charger here in Sydney, and I’m very impressed with the hardware so far.

My E2 charger is running firmware version 2.4.4, but I couldn’t find any option within the app to check or update the firmware. I’ve gone through the app thoroughly and would appreciate a more straightforward way to manage firmware updates.

I’ve also noticed a slight lag when navigating back to the home screen from sub-menus, as well as in the device’s ability to detect and calculate charging rate, range, and percentage. Is this delay normal? My Catch Power and Shelly devices respond much faster when monitoring power flow.

Is there any update coming to address the above issues.

Hi There,

Thanks for getting in touch and for the feedback.

Your E2 is running the latest version firmware, Evnex manages new firmware updates and is responsible for pushing the updates to the chargers.

I will pass this feedback to the software team, could you please confirm your phone make and model and also vehicle make and model? (You can email support@evnex.com with this information if you wish)

Although the charger updates the charging current multiple times per second internally, the app only receives updates every 5 minutes, the initial charging current in the app will show around this update interval.

The range added is a rough estimate based on an average value retrieved from the Govt. transport agency.

There is no capability for an AC charger to see the vehicle’s battery percentage unless there is an API integration with the vehicle app, currently available only for Tesla vehicles/app.

Basically the communication protocol between AC chargers and vehicles is quite basic and therefore the vehicle/charger can’t communicate this value (Battery State of Charge) directly.

There might be a future app update to enable drivers to customize the range added values.

We will need to investigate the issue in relation to the menu display delay.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Kind regards,

Pedro
