Which NZ power companies are using the API for load control?

There is talk about the smart grid and dynamic control of EV smart chargers.

Which NZ retailers are actively controlling Exnex chargers?
Are any of them offering a discount on the power in exchange for control?

Background:
Genesis Energy did a trail with Exnex 3 years ago but I can not find any follow-up.

Octopus Energy are doing a 5c/kWh discount in collaboration with Wellington Electricity for controlled EV charging but they are only controlling Wall Box for dumb EVs.
I am in the WE network area and have a Leaf.

Anyone else interested in participating in trails and early adoption programs as and when they happen?

Hi Keith.

Right now there are no retailers actively controlling Evnex chargers. We have indeed participated in a number of trials, both publicly notified and not. The space is evolving gradually and I’m sure some significant scale deployments are not too far away, but there is nothing on the market involving an Evnex charger today.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Tom

Thanks for the update.
Do you have any links to the published results of those trials?

Once there are more trials or a commercial project that individual sites can choose to join, do tap me on the shoulder.

Cheers
Keith

Thanks Keith.

The most recent one was an EECA / EEA trial called FlexTalk, the final results of which can be found here: The EEA leads FlexTalk in partnership with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority and industry. Read reports from the initial trial.
