Hi there,
Just got our charger installed today, and one thing I was hoping to set up in the Electricity Pricing are was matching our Contact energy pricing plan, which is 22c inc GST Anytime, but 9am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday are free power.
We would only rarely use our EV enough that we couldn’t do 95% of our charging during that free window, so I’d like to configure the pricing analysis to reflect that.
Is that at all possible in the app or is this a missing feature?
And how do I set the scheduler to, by default, only charge during that window (I know we can manually override if we need to charge outside it).

Hi there.
We are shortly (within the next two weeks) going to release an update to our app which will make both of these things possible. Please check for when version 3.18 becomes available on your phone!
Kind regards,
Tom
That’s great news, Tom - I look forward to it.
It appears that the way our vehicle works is it expects to see charge offered the minute it’s plugged in - if there is no charge, it eventually turns off and then doesn’t recognise the charge once it eventually is supplied by the timer.
Is there any capability to offer a small charge, say 500w or so, instead of no power at all, when the car is plugged in outside scheduled charge times, and then ramp up to full power during the charge window? As I assume that this will ‘keep the connection alive’ until the time period without car thinking nothing is happening and timing out.
Have you tried using the “Keep Awake” feature which you can activate under “General Settings” in the app? It will cause the charger to offer small amounts of energy at regular intervals and for some cars that’s enough to keep them awake until the main charging session starts.
It’s actually not possible to tell a car to charge at 500W - the lowest you can go is 6A which is about 1.4kW (it’s due to a limitation of the AC signalling standard).

I have not tried that, No. I will give it a go and report back.
The improved scheduling capability was released earlier today in an app update so check for version 3.18 on the App / Play Store.
It works in conjunction with charger firmware 2.6 and above for E-series and X-series, or 1.4 and above for R-series. The vast majority have already been updated but if yours is one which hasn’t then please wait a few days and if it still hasn’t happened call or email our support team.
Kind regards,
Tom
Fantastic
I’ll try it out soon once I’m certain the firmware has updated.
